Wow, what a great night!  Electric Blues has so much energy it's no wonder the Funkies had so much fun.  There was a 1500L contest for Best Leather & Lace.  Big congrats go out to our winners Cedar, Rush and Etain!  Cedar had some very nice lace cuffs on, we're not sure where Rush's lace was and well Etain took the cake! Friday was a Steampunk Theme Party at the Crazy Parrots!

We dressed up in our whackiest fantasty outfits... some had many.. and danced to music from DJ Butterfly until 2pm, then DJ Bobsnkief Orsini. We had a live performance as our own !Etain! gave us a Steampnk Fasion Show.  Cedar

Last night was all about unleashing our inner rock star!  Wearing glam, glitter, and shiny rock duds.  We pulled out our electric guitars and dancing shoes.  DJ Jaymes Capalini spun those classic rock tunes that were sure to bring out our inner rock star.  A spacious ballroom was booked at MOMA just for us! The Fun-kies made an entrance !

Etta James Tribute Dance.......... Blue Blue Blue.......

DJ Xavia streamed a marvelious Tribute to Etta James, an American singer that excelled at a variety of music genres including blues, rhythm and blues, rock and roll, soul, gospel and jazz.  She told us her history in nice antidotes to the music. We all got blue and gathered at are our HUMP Day spot, dressed in our favorite style with a little blue to wear.  Hevy

DJ Xavia introduced us to Mr. Michael Bublé and his singing friends Monday night at Casablanca.  Many joined us helping make GREAT Ladies and Gents lines as we listen and dance to the passionate sounds Michael Bublé and friends.

Classic Rock At MoMa Dance Hall

WOW is all Kellie can say!  Was amazing to see so many Funkies turn out for our Thursday night event at Moma Dance Hall with DJ Jaymes!  The Funkies were moving it to some great tunes like The Crazy Train by Ozzy, Pour Some Sugar On Me and many more.  I hope everyone had as much fun as I did.  Thank you so much to all who joined us!  Was a fantastic Funky night!

Funkies listened to some great music & celebrated the legacy of the Hippie Generation: {health food "brownies" , music festivals "woodstock" , contemporary sexual mores :) , and even the cyberspace revolution!  Yea SL!  These aware youth inherited the counter cultural values of the Beat "Hip"  generation and Cough* Cough* explore altered states of consciousness. :)   Dress was Casual or Hip.  Hevy said Hey Dudes and Dudettes ...  Far Out....  Be There or Be Square...

Thursday Thrills

The thrill this week was.....back to basics....... ROCK!  DJ Eaton dug into his music roots to Rock us.  Dress was Casual at beautiful Key West.

New venue! New costumes! New dances! Isle of Tranquility !

Thursday Night we had dance at the beautiful Isle of Tranquility designed by Emalee Dubrovna and Arden Ohanlon.  The music was romantic and the dances sensual.   There was free tribal clothing for men and women designed created by by Jack Vincent.  Many got Tribal or wore their own silks or sensual costumes.  The dance was scheduled to last an hour, but went longer! . Jeni was deemed the Princess of Sensual.. Hevy

Casablanca had DJ Xavia play us some shockingly good Jazz to spark things up since it was National Static Electricity Day . Casual was always fine but many come in evening dinner dress adding a touch of Apricot for National Apricot Day.  Either way we enjoied some of Xavia's charged up jazz and spark-ling wine and champagne.     Hevy.

DJ Jaffe threw a Sock Hop to remember the Oldies and celebrate Elvis's Birthday. Elvis Presley was born on January 8th in 1935. Its the 50s and we dance on the High School Gym Floor.. Many came Casual or got decked out in the 50s look. Poodle skirts, saddle shoes,...  For those that could drive, thay were kind and picked up the others. Hevy

WOW, what an amazing night!  Was wonderful to see so many funkies turn out for our Sunday night, come as you are event at Belar.  The Funkies moved to some great tunes brought to us by DJ Graylon who was filling in for DJ Susie.   We had a full crowd with us and had a great night.

The Funkies had a really "moving" experience at the Moma Dance Hall with DL Kellie and DJ Jaymes.  At one point we had the Funky Soul Train in action!  Wow, what a night!  So much fun! A Circle O Fun-kies

You Funkies are awesome, showing up in the middle of the day to celebrate the event.  We had for the first time ever, more than a full double circle and the leaders made room going on stage!   In the gesture of our dear NYNan, "Wow Wow all I can say is Wow!"   You make this fun!  Thank you all for coming.  A few of the wonderful past leaders showed up, Emyly came by and dear Lulu danced on stage with us.
The cameras were flashing and the songs were hopping as DJ Jaffee played some 50's and 60's rock for us.  What Fun.   He had nice things to say about this group and it felt good to hear.  High-5 Jaffe, you make it special.  I hope you all got to see the historical picture frames.  Let me again say, our warmest thanks to you the dancers and call attention to the many leaders that have supported the group over the years.

Funkies joined the awesome KW New Year's Eve Party from 1-5 PM today, DJ Eaton started at 1PM with his eclectic journey around the Globe, followed by DJ Zep at 2 PM and DJ Moonie at 3-5PM! It was a formal and black and white!   It was a blast..   So many joined us @ the amazing Hot Sax Platform
